  • Describe the mechanisms of injury that may suggest a head and/or spinal injury.
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of head and/or spinal injuries.
  • Demonstrate the care for serious head and/or spinal injuries (including use of collars).
  • Identify the difference between spinal motion restriction (SMR) and spinal immobilization.
  • Demonstrate the removal of helmets and other equipment (e.g., sports equipment, workwear).
