Community Invite

Once You're Certified

After you complete the AFA program you may not encounter any emergencies during your 3 year certification. Regardless of what Red Cross Training Partner certifies you, they hope you will return to them for your recertification.

What about that 3 year window? What skills have you retained, studied, or practiced with? Maybe you're diligent and seek out learning opportunities through volunteering or other courses. The majority of students forget their training, hands-on skills, and their first aid confidence deteriorates over time. This is a problem that Delta Emergency is trying to solve.

During your course you will use the Community Page for Written Scenarios. When you're done the course, my goal is to create a long-lasting Community of First Responders that have certified with us. It will be a new Community invite for our past students. Here are some things I'd like to create for you:

  • Monthly scenarios with a "Choose your own Adventure" style of quizzes.

  • Opportunity to be a patient actor for more realistic scenarios.

  • Opportunity to join skill days with classes that have uneven numbers.

  • List of career or volunteering opportunities in Canada for experience and your resume.

  • Forum for students to connect and offer Fire volunteering information.

  • List of discounts available globally for First Responders.

  • Information about navigating Fire training.

  • Information about navigating EMS pathways.

  • Becoming a Delta Emergency Affiliate - potential students sign-up for AFA using your personal code which auto-deposits $ for you.

I have plans for this and more, but time is a big constraint! If you think of other ways I could connect with you and help you along in your career, please let me know. - Jarrett
