What will I learn?

We call our first session, "Caring for Babies". We teach critical skills such as:
- holding a baby, preparing milk, feeding, burping, diaper and clothing changes, and swaddles, to name a few!
Our second session is called "Babysitter First Aid". This is where students learn:
- to help a choking infant, toddler, child, and adult.
- CPR for choking babies, recognizing severe allergic reactions and life-saving treatments, asthma, life-threatening bleeding, plus more!

Jarrett is a certified Canadian Red Cross Youth Leader, a dedicated Advanced Care Paramedic with 19 years of experience, and a proud father. With 13 years of teaching Red Cross Youth Programs and having certified thousands of babysitters across Canada⭐, Jarrett brings unparalleled expertise to the table. His background in Emergency Medical Services ensures that every student learns not only the skills but also the confidence needed to excel in babysitting.

Kumari

Kumari is a certified Canadian Red Cross Youth Leader, an Emergency Medical Responder ⭐, avid hiker, and Wilderness Advanced Responder. She is certified to teach Canadian Rec Cross Child, Basic, and Intermediate First Aid courses across Canada.

She has a massive amount of babysitting experience from when she was a teenager, too!

Earn your Babysitting Certificate with the most recognized babysitter certification organization, the Canadian Red Cross!

About the Course

Learn basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. Designed for mature 10 year olds-15 year old youth, this course is also open to any student of any age.

Target Group

Girls and boys aged 10-15 who must care for an infant, baby, or child. It can be for your own friends and family, or to start your own babysitting business.

Certification

Lifetime certification in Babysitting. Digital certificate and wallet-card issued upon successful completion. Physical certificates on card stock can be purchased.

Course Format + Length

Step 1: About 2-3 hours of invested at-home learning using your textbook to complete activities, and to show your parents.

Step 2: Attend two 150 min video conferences with a Paramedic: Your child will be in a small group of 15 or less students and taught each critical babysitter skill.

Step 3: We email official Red Cross certifications to you. Physical copies can be purchased.
